Will you buy the N900?

Having read the hurrah around the N97 and subsequent let downs, would you purchase the N900?

Simple Poll :)

easier than leaving comments - please just click yes or no and don't ramble on for a whole page about the let-downs of the N97.

Thanks!

If I could return the N97 then I'd definately get it
I'm a big fan of open source OSs
Having said that, what's the normal return policy for a phone bought from an official Nokia store?

Sadly, looking like a big nope for me. This seems to be slated for the T-Mobile network, and as was rumored, will not have US 3G support for the AT&T network at all. Seems pointless. Why release a 900/1700/2100 model here when you could release a 1700/1900/2100 and basically cover all the networks (T-Mobile and Europe included). If it's coming down to cost, I'd pay more for a proper 850/900/1700/1900/2100 phone as well... It's not like we should be pinching pennies on a high end smart phone anyway. Pretty disappointed, and won't be getting it.

I don't know a lot about frequencies but do the 900/1700/2100 frequencies mean that it won't support 3G in Europe?

I wonder how much the N97 would sell for, I thought I could return it the whole warranty period, it's been with me since 24/6 :/

Nope. Too big and expensive for me. Plus I actually like my N97.

3G compatibility for Europe is on 900/2100

3G compatibility for the US on AT&T is on 850/1900

3G compatibility for the US on T-Mobile is on 1700/2100

The N900 will support Euro 3G and US T-Mobile 3G. However, since Nokia has been supporting only AT&T 3G up until now, most US-Nokians are on AT&T... meaning they pretty much just screwed over their entire US smart-phone customer base. I don't know why. I don't know if this is going to be subsidized by T-Mobile here to go with their already growing and impressive Android lineup (though, one could argue that it is an interesting Android competitor that may do better on a rival network), or if it is just something Nokia is doing to stick a finger in a hole of a market they've pretty much ignored until now. I do know that it makes me rather disappointed that if I wanted to get a N900 I'd either have to switch carriers (meaning... all my older US Nokia devices and the i8910 would not get 3G anymore)... or live with it on GSM/Edge only... Which is equally as pointless to me. Rather disappointing...

call it my personal belief , or even hope lol, I think Nokia (they won't admit it) will take notice of the N97 and go hell for leather to make sure the N900 is right out-of-the-box! I don't think their reputation will last if another flagship is a pile of rubbish!.

I think I'll wait for the N900i or for other way better Maemo devices. You know, I plan on waiting a month or two after it's released!

But actually, I don't know yet. My N97 has been nice to me so I have no real reason to change it. (Besides the fact that a supposed white phone is looking yellow, anyway.)
