Updated this morning through OTA.

Seems okay, not really noticed that much difference if I'm honest, but I've not been using any features other than the texting and viewing photos.

Hopefully it's a little more stable.

Havent had any reboots yet , dissapointed that the marco focus problem hasnt been fixed yet as its quite a big bug that needs to be adressed asap :-)

havent noticed any major biggys but noticed my snooze now works when phone is off , wifi stabillity seems better , gps locks very quick but then again it was quick on v11

think it will mainly make the phone more stable allthough v11 wasnt to bad :-)

The new firmware is not released at the same time for all versions of handsets, it can take a few weeks until all non-branded product codes are covered. If you have a network-branded firmware it could be months unless you debrand.

I got my Nokia N96 yesterday morning. When I got home and checked the software version my phone picked up a new firmware. So I got v12.043 immediately.

The phone rock.

What do you mean by "gps lock seems extremley fast"? How fast is it compared to previous firmware version and compared to Nokia N95-8G? I have an N95-8G and extremely disappointed by the gps lock, it's very slow!!

Well after update i got a gps lock in about 10 to 12 seconds indoors , agps is obvously on , the bars just lit up almost straight away and garmin was ready to navigate

id say average is around 10-20secs for a lock

the gps antena on the n96 is at the top/back of the device on all n95s its under the keypad which isnt great for gps signal , still i used to get a lock within 40secs max on my n95-1 with agps turnt on runing v30 firmware

have you got the latest firmware and agps turnt on? Without agps it will take longer for a lock mate

the N96, N85 and N82 all get a much quicker lock than the N95 although the N95-2 was still pretty good .
Have you made your initial lock yet ?
If not then it may require standing outside and away from buildings etc for 15 mins ;)
