Talking Product Code Changing Nokia N96

Heyyy i am living in canada and i have a nokia n96 which i bought from India.... but my phone has a code N96 RM-247 CTR INDIA CV DG 0572321 which unfortunately has the latest firmware to V11.018.........:( so i had a question say if i want to change the code....so is it like you can choose any code from the list which had the latest firmware V12.043??????????? or does it has to be a specific code from INDIA........ i am living in canada and if there is a specific code then plz tell me the code with details and also if u be kind and tell me why is it that specific code

You can change it to any code if you want to get V.12.

Obviously you are not worried about warranty so you can debrand if you want to, unless you intend to ship the phone from Canada to India if it breaks.

Bear in mind that dfferent product codes will load different variants of the V.12 firmware, e.g. different language packs.

so which one should i use to get English...... one of my friend tell me in other forum to use N96 RM-247 CTR INDIA LATIN DARK GREY 0543700 to replace it with my original one which is N96 RM-247 CTR INDIA CV DG 0572321 is that okay and if it is okay then tell me what language does N96 RM-247 CTR INDIA LATIN DARK GREY 0543700 has if u don't mind

I have no idea what languages are supported by the different product codes. If you have English on your current India product code I am almost certain it will be there on another India code as well.

had no problem and updated to latest firmware 12.043

me again lol i changed my product code to 0568238 no problems to date =)
only problem is i'm missing my N95 8gb

but tifukwizat i have a question is it okay to use this code in phone brought from any country like i have my phone from india and now i am in canada using canadian plans...... so is it okay to change the product code to 0568238

You can use any product code on any phone regardless where it's bought and what plans you are using - as long as the product code is for the correct phone model. This means for example you cannot use a N95-1 product code on a N95-2 - nothing will happen to the phone, you will just be unable to install the firmware. In your case any RM-247 code will be OK to use, incl. the one suggested by tifukwizat.

and i am not sure what is the difference between N95-1 and N95-2 is there a major different or are the both different phone
