BL-6F Battery questions
I've just updated my N95 8Gb to a N96 and i'm charging it up twice a day!!!! i'm amazed Nokia didn't put in the BL-6F battey that was in my N95 8GB.
So i'm seriously thinking about getting a BL-6F Battery, and i'm aware of the back cover problems. My question is can I remove the foam on the inside of the back cover, this will allow the cover to fit better? plus if I did remove it would the antenna get damaged as I need wifi, bluetooth etc? Thanks for your help Paul |

I too am pondering this one, removing the H shaped (and in th UK, useless) DVB-H antenna is a start, and then out with the Dremmel!!! At the end of the day, if I can make it fit - they why can't Nokia??? It can't be a cost issue as they probably pay the same price for the batteries, indeed they may pay less for the BL-6F as they are more in demand!!

Today I put the BL-6F battery in my N96, I did remove the H shaped foam piece at the back of the cover and the cover fits well, slightly raised up, but not noticeable.
Everything works, bluetooth, wifi etc. I will put a strip of double sided tape on the battery cover so it will not come off. So overall i'm very happy, but I do think that Nokia have been very stupid to not fit this battery in the first place. Has anyone else fitted a BL-6F battery in their N96 and if so what do they think? Cheers Paul |

I've been using the new battery for a few days now and it does last a while longer, not as long as my old N95 8GB, so i'm still disappointed.
I really like my N96, but not happy about the battery life, even on the BL-6F battery, Nokia needs to release a firmware update to extend the battery life else alot of people just won't be using this handset. I've also changed some settings, switched off nav wheel,3G, rotate screen, wifi etc but I should not have to do that just to stop the phone going dead after 24 hours!!! So I just have to wait now for an update............ Cheers Paul |

what FW version are you running? the later ones have really good power saving stuff in them, although your right about the battery they really should have fitted it, im sure there was a reason why they didnt though

hey Paul are you aware that you must completely reset your phone and allow it to drain normally completely before the battery will act correctly?
