    Format Nokia N96

If I format all Phone Memory;C: Memory Phone, E: Memory Mass and F: Memory Card
    I need to start with;
    1) F: Memory Card, 2) E: Memory Mass and 3) C: Memory Phone
    Yes or Not.
What I need to do ???
    How is it that?

    After I formated the phone.
How reinstall all the system and default programs for Nokia N96.
    How is it that?

    Thanks.

It does not matter in what order you do it.

"Formatting" the phone memory C: does not erase it like with a computer disk or the mass memory E: or the memory card F:.

It only cleans all additionally installed applications which where not there originally and the personal user data, like contacts, messages, photos, etc. The main firmware with the default applications remains intact and you do not need to reinstall anything.

You can format/hard reset the phone memory by entering *#7370# on your standby screen and then reconfirming with your phone lock code, which by default is 12345 unless it has been changed.

You can format the mass memory and the memory card from the phone's menu.

Don't be so harsh in the way you say it it's her first freaking post. Direct her politely and help her as a new member.

Nour, it's advised that you start your own thread here: http://www.nokiausers.net/forum/newt...newthread&f=61 and not ask questions in other people's threads.

I have problems with formatting a phone Nokia N96.

I saved the with Nokia PC Suite , photos, contacts, messages, etc all. (31 07 2010.nbu)
    1) The first step I formatted
E : mass memory > options > format mass memory.
Now I lost all the original pictures.
Which is the name of the folder for pictures and ringtones to restore original format ?
    2) The second step I formatted the phone memory with *#7370# .
So far everything was OK. My visible contacts list and the message is empty.
Strange is that if I dial or if they are called me, some the old numbers these numbers appear as they were recorded with name, by formatting these numbers should go away ,to disappear.???
What should I do to remove all these numbers? Where can I find these old numbers, name of the folder?
    3) After first and second step I used Nokia PC Suite again to restore all (31 07 2010.nbu). Everything
worked normally again, but in my contacts list and messages nothing is visible, everything is empty.

    Why do I advised ?
    Where I wrong ?
    What should I do ?

    Thank you very much.
