N96 issues

Hiya peeps

Ive got a Nokia N96 on t Mobile in the UK. It has a couple of issues im hoping you can help with.
I have used the search and have followed advice found. No luck so far though

1) When talking to people, it sounds as though they are talking into a mug or through there hands. Very muffled. I have tried the suck/blow thing but that dosent work.

2) Also, Really bad crackling/clicking through speakers when pressing keys. Its not the speakers cos it also does it through the earphones as well. Sometimes its really bad.

Its running 11.018.256.2 software and NSU says no updates available. I have also installed NSS to my pc but it wont "read" my product code. When i click "read", it just shows "error"

Its not under warranty as i bought it off ebay as an unwanted upgrade although it was new and still had all the seals intact, and its not a chinese copy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You'll get a 12 month Standard Nokia Warranty, regardless of previous ownership.

I didnt know that

Is there any way of checking how old it is?

Also do i have to deal direct with Nokia, or can i go to an approved Nokia Care point store.

Thanks

You can PM one of the Nokia engineers (Gaz, tom moran) on the forum and ask them to check for you, although further to my previous post you should be well within the 24-month period.

NCP is fine.

That's a T-Mobile product code and you can update to V12.43 without changing it.

There are two ways - OTA (Over The Air) from the handset and via NSU from the PC with the phone plugged in.

You above message is not clear as to which method you tried, I am guessing the first one. Whichever you did, try the other one.

If you do FOTA you don't need to backup anything. In theory you shouldn't have to do it if you use NSU either, but I would recommend it just to be on the safe side.
