There will be no adapter , there be lot of more devices from Nokia soon
if you dont like this one. Acording to trustfull sources Nokia will come out
with aprox 6-10 new devices the next 6 months. With touch screen, 8MP
and so on............

But I like this one...-:)

Why bump the GPS? Its proven good enough (bar the N95 classic, that was located under the keypad) with AGPS.

Again, bumping up the camera is not going to happen for a while, and when it does, it's not going to make much difference at all - see comparisions between the 8mp Samsungs and the 5mp Nokias.

Shame the 5800 doesnt have a transmitter. I know its not N series, but its supposed to be geared towards music.

A meant bump as in "improve in general", not increase the megapixles, so for example better image quality or recorded video at a higher resolution.

Yes Bart , I dont know about the transmitter either to the 5800 ,
and it also look like the 5800 dont get the N-gage yet..(

The good news is for the N97 wich be the first touchscreen device who support
N-gage

Hey Bart, you constantly complain about phones having no lens cover. Have you ever owned a N95 8gb or N96? I have and never had a single bad photo in 7 months of owning a 8gig and nothing so far in a month of N96 ownership. My N95 always trapped dust under the lens cover, something the other N series phones I've owned since haven't done. I look after my phones by using a Krusell case and don't put anything else in my pocket other than the phone.

No, but I own an E66.

I hate phone cases, they get in the way for me. And although I take good care of my phones, they live in my pocket with strictly nothing else allowed with it.

I can see marks appearing, and that cannot help pictures. Many camera experts say it increases flare when a light source is shining.

But the main reason I want one is ease of use. For me, I love being able to flip the cover open, take a picture, flip it closed again, and that turns off the camera.

For our Finnish readers...

Nokia N97:n hinnalla saisi suorituskykyisen kannettavan tietokoneen.

Plussat

* Yhdistää qwerty-näppäimistön ja kosketusnäytön. Markkinoilla on useita kosketusnäytöllä varustettuja puhelimia, joista puuttuvat tavalliset, fyysiset näppäimet.
Ensimmäisissä asiantuntija-arvioissa uutuutta on arvosteltu paksuudesta.
* Sähköpostien lukeminen on tehty aikaisempaa helpommaksi. Tavallinenkin käyttäjä saa sähköpostit näkymään ilman mutkikasta asennusta.
* Värinävastetoiminto. Painallus kosketusnäyttöön tuntuu sormessa värähdyksenä, mikä helpottaa kosketusnäytön käyttämistä.

Miinukset

* Kallis. N97:n verollinen suositushinta Suomessa on 990 euroa. Kansainvälinen suositushinta on selvästi halvempi, noin 670 euroa. Käytännössä uutuusmallia myydään osassa kaupoista selvästi suositushintaa halvemmalla.
* Laite tulee myyntiin ensi keväänä, mahdollisesti vasta ensi kesänä. Siihen mennessä markkinoille tullee useita kilpailevia malleja esimerkiksi Samsungilta ja HTC:lta. Puoli vuotta on pitkä aika matkapuhelinteollisuudessa.
* Ei mullistavia uusia ominaisuuksia, ellei sellaiseksi lasketa gps-paikannusta elektronisella kompassilla. Paikannuksen avulla laite päättelee itse sijaintinsa, jonka voi siirtää helposti status-tietoihin sosiaalisissa verkostoissa. Laitteessa on lisäksi muun muassa viiden megapikselin kamera, musiikkisoitin, fm-radio ja 3g-yhteys. Sisäänrakennettua muistia löytyy 32 gigatavun verran.

I will translate it later to English.
