Great review, but I'm quite surprised that they don't expect the phone to be popular. I know Nokia have several touch screen phones in the pipeline, each different enough from each other. However, if I was buying one (and chances are, in July 09 when my contract is due for renewal, I will be), I would be wanting the one that does everything, just like I did with my N95, my8gig and now my N96, and that seems to be the N97, not the 5800, for example.

its interesting the article said it didn't charge via USB. :( It also said the speakers were exctly the same as the tube's, were those reviewed favourably?

But realistically this phone isn't going to sell nearly as well as the N95. When the N95 came out it obliterated its predessesors and all the competition in every way possible. The N97 basically is the N95 repackaged and is only marginally better.

My Tubes speakers are great, so thats excellent news if thats the case.

I really need to see Nokia improving the browser though, its fallen well behind several others, and thats disappointing considering that Nokia are aware that browsing is a key experience that people want from their devices.

What I want to know is why the Ruskies get these darned devices before us in the decadent West? same with the 5800! :(

It didn't say how it does charge and I couldn't see any other way but the USB port.

Not too keen on the clip off back cover. OK if you don't often swap batteries (or memory cards) but for those on the move a lot I can see it breaking, or at least becoming loose.

Not saying I don't want one though. ;)
