N97 Available in March..(Obviously this date has now been changed, expected 23 June )

It seems that the new Nokia N97 is due for release on 31/03/2009 at a price of about £479.99, about €535........lets hope this is true, my upgrades round that time.

I think i'll grab the dearest thing o2 throw at me for my upgrade and sell that and my N82 and then get this.

Hmmmmm- interesting. Pre-order dates aren't exactly known to be the most reliable source of release dates- but it is somehow comforting to start seeing dates, rubbish or not! :-)

I'm thinking of doing the same, but can't decide which phone would be worth more on the 2nd hand market?

ATM the choices from o2 are the N96 or the X1.

Wow, that's a good month to two months before I expected it. Honestly, I didn't see it coming out until the end of May... at the earliest. My only hope/wish/whatever at this point is that Nokia puts in the tri-band 3G antenna so us US-folk don't have to wait until... Christ... October or later for our version.

Thing is, this really has me on the edge. I'm like... right at the cusp of buying a new device. I sold/basically gave away my N82 last week to a friend whose wife needed a new phone. I probably won't see a dime for it, but I don't really care. It was just collecting dust anyway. With it gone, however, and me down to the E71 and E90 as my only "modern" phones (and a drawer full of older models I'll probably never use again) I've had the itch for a toy. I've racked my brain here about buying an N85, but cannot get over the build-quality issues. I've then leaned toward an N79, but worry it is little more than an underpowered N82 with FP2 and a FM transmitter. Hell, just because I want a toy I've even been looking at a 7900 Prism which have dropped substantially in price. It doesn't help that I have $500 in Amazon gift certificates as a gift/bonus from my employer just waiting to get spent.

With the N97 so close to release, however, I think I may just have to pacify myself and play the wait and see. It's hard, though... heh. Oh, a fool and his money.

Sounds real good! Then the teori about the N97 winning widget competition
look to be true ,the winning widget designer will receive
a production-mode Nokia N97 ahead of the public release,
pre-installed with their homescreen widget.

The closing date for the competition is February 27, 2009.
The winner will be announced on March 13, 2009.

If play com say N97 will be on public release on 31/3 it dosent sound

wow this looks good, i cant wait for it to reach the NA shores, i hope rogers gets her on thier network soon, i will prob get one after my year upgrade, so i gotta wait till, summer cuz i just got my n95 a few months ago
