after 2 years with the 95 and no major complaints at all..it sure is tempting to put in a pre-order for the 97. Hard to pull the trigger tho...

Thanks for the link, cinek.... BUT! ;)

This is typical Nokia Promo-Garbage, telling us virtually nothing about the making of the N97, apart from their pride in the noise that the slide makes, comparing it to the click of the closing of a quality car-door... Someone should tell them that the manufacturers of high-quality cars do their best to make the doors close as silently as possible!

And Black is an obvious choice is it? Strange that only short while ago, the only two colour-choices were White & Dark Brown... I'm glad that some idiot was over-ruled in this department though. ;)

As for boasting about the complexity of the mechanics of the hinge mechanism, perhaps they should cast a glance at the engineering of the opening function in some of the early Psion organiser devices... and hang their heads in shame!

Designers? Come on... What designer of the N97 wouldn't know the precise opening-angle of the screen? .... I quote "...about 35 degrees I think?... 35-45 degrees?".

And the final straw... A proud voice-over saying... "After our launch, Robert Scoble, AKA Scobleizer, one of the most famous technology bloggers in the world, wrote a piece which said... N97, The ultimate facebook device".

THIS Robert Scoble? Some recommendation that is! ... The guy is a grade 'A' Prat in my humble opinion, well-known for evangelising the iPhone to a ridiculous extent, against all logic... Read the thread and judge for yourself.

Again, thanks for the link Cinek.

But I do feel it was 7 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. :(

It's Broke?

Did you know that your Nokia comes with a 2 year warranty? Did you know that Carphone Warehouse are Nokia Repair Centres?
Damage from normal use: wobbly slider, broken keys, quiet earpiece etc... will be repaired for free, and usually the same day if you take it to a big store!

Let's face it, it's hard enough checking to make sure a post isn't a duplicate on this forum, without being expected to check on another site as well! If it's posted on NU and no link to it is posted on here, it's not surprising that it should then appear on N95U as well.

In any event, no matter who posted it or where, it remains a waste of bandwidth, promising interesting information about the designing of the device and delivering nothing of the kind!

Indeed, my bad, I really should start posting links to my articles on here too when I publish them.
