So whats it to be iphone or N97?

I have followed the N97 since its first annoucement but know its here the first reviews are saying its buggy, missing software that should be there and so on while the iphone 3GS only fault is still lack of pixels against the N97.I am leaning more toward the iphone I must confess. What about everybody else?

there are more stuff missing apart from some pixels, dual led flash just to start with, but you should get what fulfills your needs, the n97 has more technology and can do more things than the Iphone, but again, choose whatever you feel will fill your needs.

I have an N97 and is running great, and some bugs that have found can be easily fixed with an update.

That's my opinion.

I had original N95 and have N95 8GB for now but I don,t think the N97 has made the impact the first N95 did thats why I may give the iphone a go which has moved the boundarys on like the early N95 did.

I am not too familiar with the iphone - could you please elaborate how exactly has it moved boundaries, since I understand that the latest version is now catching up with functionality which has been widely available at least 3-4 years ago ?

OK, I'll give you the touch UI and relatively large screen - what else ?

I've had the iPhone 3G for quite some time now and I've decided to sell it (for £290 no less!) and get a 5800 instead, so I'll actually make enough profit to buy a external HD and have money left over!

Back when I got it, the iPhone was the only choice for what I needed, but now there are so many other options, which is the reason Apple decided to add basic features (copy and paste, MMS...) to 3.0, but it's too little to late.

To make things worse, O2 totally screwed the pricing on the new iPhone, as did AT&T!

Let's go to an Apple Users website and write about how we're gonna get an N97... but we're not biased because we've owned MacBook Pros and iPhones and iPods...

You're comparing the first software iteration to the 3rd generation, and saying that the first generation is incomplete and missing items?

I won't go into how buggy iPhone 1.0 OS was, or the changes it has gone through since 1.0
iPhone OS version history - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

*Nothing* is right when it's first released -- be it hardware or software... That's why vehicles have recalls, that's why companies provide software updates...

If you want an iPhone, then apparently you've thought through everything and decided that 'it's only a few pixels'...

Personally, I don't see how anyone who hasn't already been wooed by the iPhone would be swayed by the latest iteration... If you have a first gen iPhone, and aren't jaded with Apple products after using it, then this might be the time for you to upgrade, mainly because a 1st gen will never get MMS support - ever (according to apple)...

The N97 isn't a game changer, that's for sure... but compared to the iPhone...

Well, I guess it's substance or style... and style is all subjective...

And in the US, most won't bother purchasing anything that isn't sold in a WalMart...

if i ever got one it would be as a toy and only for the apps and games to play with. I wouldnt be able to do with it as a phone. I was going to say if i needed a new ipod i would get one but id probably get a classic again as id rather have 80 or 160gb than a touch screen

iPhone of course!

... if you want pretty pretty that is. If you want functionality and features, N97 all the way.

As has been said countless times, the iPhone is perhaps now close to what it should have been at original launch. Had they included all that other manufacturers did several years ago, what extra could they implement now? Would there be any need for a v3 iPhone?
