N97 Product Codes

Hmmm... It seems as though their servers aren't set up for the N97 yet then in that case. When they are, you won't have to wait for newer firmware to be available, it already is! :)

I'd be inclined to send a copy of your first request to Nokia again, wait 24 hours and then contact Nokia head office, this situation is ridiculous!

Someone on here, possibly Micky, should be able to give you the email address to send to, in order to get a satisfactory result.

93tid... Over the last few weeks I've read everything I could find about the N97 until I'm now at information overload... But I seem to remember seeing somewhere a brief mention that PC-Suite was considerably smaller than Ovi-Suite... Which leads me to believe that for the N97, PC-Suite has been replaced.

Maybe he needs to install Ovi-Suite instead, to enable a firmware upgrade?

The Nokia Software Updater is a stand-alone program which can be downloaded and ran independently from any Suites so I do not think it makes any difference whether he's got PC or OVI Suite, i.e. I think it's the same in both versions.

I suspect the rest of the OVI Suite is bloated in comparison to PC Suite. I have used NSU from PC Suite to update successfully everything which has passed through my hands so far including the 5800, I do not believe the N97 is that special.

OVI Suite allows you to select which components from it you want to download, I am using only the Nokia Music bit because the one from PC Suite refuses to work properly with my 5800. I use everything else from PC Suite.

Well, as I say, I've reached information overload on the N97 and I'm grasping at straws here to try and understand why he can't upgrade what is now old firmware... :(

Yea I have seen that with different product codes, but no luck with the NSU of FOTA. Maybe they havent released it yet to the users?? I will post what exactly appears when I ask for device updates:

maybe the update isnt on the servers as yet...
if it was youd be able to reinstall software
if that doesnt come up then youll have to wait
a bit for it and reinstall it........

i check it everyday when I wake up, the first thing I do with my phone is check new firmware
