VLC for N97 possible by the end of the week!
I just found this:
MAHASHARE - Project : VLC Port For Symbian Project Name MHSVLC Project Start Date May 05 2009 Expected Finishing Date June 25 2009 Project Description Reduce and Port VLC for use on Symbian OS >=7.0Including Series 60 5th ed. Wow, I am uber excited by this news.
VLC is my first choice player for everything and anything now a days. To run it on my phone would be nice, especially with all the codecs and formats! Super.

Well, it's well out of my depth but there are snapshots of the application under development. It doesn't look like Series 60 5th edition but the main page does state that it will:

can i ask why this is in the N97 section? Just because YOU have one and its only relevant to you??? it says
Project Description Reduce and Port VLC for use on Symbian OS >=7.0Including Series 60 5th ed. Yes it will work but its not N97 specific.... put it in the general section as it will work for all symbian phones not just yours
