Switching network connection

Hi everyone,

I'm a N97 owner. I have wifi at home. So I wish to connect my phone to the Internet with 3.5G network when I'm not at home, and use wifi when I stay at home. However, I found that all home screen widgets cannot switch the connection it uses without re-starting my phone. When I'm at home and connect it with wifi. The widgets cannot switch the connection to 3.5G when I go out. Keep complaining wifi is no longer available. On another hand, if I connected to the Internet with 3.5G network. The widgets won't use wifi even after I connected it by hand.
Is it possible to force a widget to change its connection without re-starting the phone? Even changing the profile to offline don't do the trick. Thanks.

Thumbs up

Just go to your settings and make your wifi priority # 2. Now when you are at home go to your home screen and at to top right of the screen touch where the battery signal is to access the wifi then connect. That may help.

Unhappy Switching network connection

Hi jq976,

Sorry, that doesn't work. Even I connected wifi by hand. The widget keep using 3.5G network. It'll immediately connect again if I disconnect 3.5G in the "Connection Mgr". This is what annoying me.

same connectivity problems

I just bought my N97 and the only glitch that hacks me off is the same thing. I use my wifi at home and when I go to the local pub it fights me as to what connection to use. It keeps coming up with my home wifi and it ignores the local wifi. The thing that makes me the most frustrated is it keeps wanting to connect to the WAP connection. I have prioritised and it is not automatic like the good old N95 8Gig. HELP what can I do to fix this ??????

i think a problem that has plagued many users for years. Should seamlessly, automatically go to network if wifi unavailable.
