Application signing on the N97 - .cer and .key files

I just jumped through all the hoops to get .cer and .key files from OPDA and have just tried to sign an application on my N97 using S60Signer.

The signing seems to have been successful as I have a new file with the word 'signed' added to the filename but I still get a certificate error when I try to install the signed application.

Has anybody tried signing an application on the N97?

What procedure did you use?

I have signed some applications using a cert from OPDA.

I signed them using SignSIS-GUI and it worked, have a google and see if that works for you. :)

Thanks for the tip.

Being on a (PPC) Mac, it's a bit problematic using a Windows signing application, I have managed to do it using VirtualPC but a lot of the time I get errors that the application encountered an error whilst launching. I was kinda hoping for an onboard application for the phone.

Just as an update, I managed to find an application called FreeSigner:

FreeSigner freeware for Symbian. S60, S80 and UIQ free software downloads for Symbian OS Phones.

As a result of finding this and the obstacle course at OPDA etc. I have just signed and installed my first application on the N97, PhonetInfo

;-)

There's an 'English' tab in the header... Though it's still a nightmare to follow! ;)
