We'll see about the Samsung eh? From Samsung channels there should be two firmware updates in the next two weeks, if they come through that should do a lot to silence some of the few remaining criticisms of the i8910...

MfE related fixes
-Partial fix for Messaging/calendar entry lost.
-Mail for exchange calendar entry synchronization error fix.

UI transition error fixes

-Partial fix no display backlight illumination when unlocking lock-key – CAP Genius reported already
-New version of Accueweather to improve the “Connection error” situation
-Device reset when browsing with high speed packet access (for Malaysia)
-“Browser soft key UI doesn’t work after putting Chinese character with qwerty keyboard”
-Java fixes (TCK, Pre-install app disappearing, *#7370#*)
-Operator fixes (CMCC, Hutchson and Telefonica, Vodafone)
-Ovi store client now embedded in the core image
Partial fix for no display illumination while unlocking? What does that even mean? And, yeah, I don't know if this is going to fix a lot of the stability issues I had. Most of mine were receiving calls, but my device is boxed up and ready to go back to Nokia today. Of course, I'm also waiting on an RA (and have been since last Thursday, actually). I may get a chance to try the new update before it ships back, but I think this one needs a bit more time in the oven. I liked the hardware enough that if nothing else like it comes out in a few months, I'll probably get another one... It's just not going to work for me right now. I need something that isn't going to crash randomly when I get a call...

sorry mate i didnt mean to criticise its just i hear about people with the innov8 that have the same problems they did a year ago sam sung havent been great in the past have they though

i was that close to buying a omnia hd so i hope your right and the support can soon match the specs of the devices that they are knocking out at the min :-)

the omnia hd is a killer phone , if i knew that it had the backing support it wuld be my first choice handset at the min with what it brings to the table

This FW is for the Global RM-505 version, I'm afraid the V11 for the NAM versions might come out later.....

Six, I can understand why you are sending your N97 back. Most of us here have had or still have N95's, we are used to being Nokias 'unofficial BETA testers'. It's the way Nokia do things, they get that much feedback from we guinea pigs, much more than they could ever pay for. For instance on my N95 I went from (branded) V12 to V20 to V21 to V30 to finally V31. V20 & V30 were major updates. V20 made the phone work properly and V30 gave us new features like auto-rotate and limited flash support. At a very rough guess I would hope the N97 would work properly with Vxx firmware around late August. That's just a guess from past experiences. I know absolutely nothing.

Just checked OTA, and no Firmware update it available yet. Not tried NSU yet.
