Send a message via Skype™ to roberth
it reverts back to the theme ONLY IF you disconnect from pc first.....
(when you get that message "it is safe to disconnect your cable")
the messages never go back to phone memory.....BUG

That is a bug and having to reboot in order to see the mass memory again is also a bug, losing the theme after connecting in Mass memory mode is not.

You should always do that anyway. The easiest way to corrupt any card/mass/flash memory is to yank the USB lead.

Did you safely eject the phone from the System Tray?

Or did you just pull out the USB cable?

If you dont safely disconnect the phone, you can corrupt the file system on the Phones Mass storage and MicroSD card, causing file loss.

(In Windows XP) go to 'My Computer' find your memory card right click eject then do the same for your N97's mass storage. To find out what drive is what in 'My Computer' right click it and go to 'Properties'. If any drive won't eject it's being used or read to/from, find out what is using it and let it finish or close it then go and eject the drive again. I learnt from bitter experience that simply yanking the USB lead while in 'Mass Memeory'/ 'Data Transfer' mode can corrupt memory cards. I have a Sandisk 16G microSD card that nothing can see or read from doing this.

The USB bug still exists in v12

I accidentally connected the phone to my PC in Mass Storage mode, and when I removed the USB connection, all my installed themes went missing :(

I ran CHKDSK on the 32GB drive and found 250 lost files and it fixed some errors. But the themes were still gone. Looks like I'll need to format it since other things are probably corrupted as well.

Why does this happen in the first place? I mean I wasn't transferring any files to the 32GB drive, the phone was just idling. I dont understand how the FAT can be corrupted when there were no file transfers at all..

funny thing is, I was still able to use the phone as a modem in Mass Storage mood...

Mine too. It takes a few seconds.

Edit: I "safely removed" the device from the PC first.

Edit 2: I should have said, I'm on V12.0.026, number 0585162 UK. I never checked this before. Maybe it was fixed in V12?
