A sleep timer on the music player would be nice
The ability to be able to auto connect to my wirless parrot device A simplified way of switching between 3g and wi-fi Faster speed changing between menu's Cache to be stored in mass memory Internet browser needs to be more stable Most the sites i've tryed flash is not supported and after all this device was supposed to be a mini computer or internet in your pocket Backlight is to slow to come on Contacts and messaging menu is way too slow The ability to remove Boingo To be able to hold down a number button on the qwerty keyboard to select a number instead of the blue arrow (frustrating) When transfering photos from pc to phone there in organised folders but on the phone they become a mess |

Personnally i would like to see the problems we already have fixed and put behind us before they think of adding any more in the near future.
Fixing a problem by adding more problems to it is not the way forward in my book. Sorry to be negative guys. |

VERY good idea! The ability to perform ANY of the secondary characters on the qwerty by holding a key press would be so very useful indeed!

I'm getting sick to death of it not synchronising with PS Sync.
Also it is CONSTANTLY 'Losing Connection' with PC Suite. I'm really not happy with the phone at the moment. |

The UI is very important, especially with Apple's smooth responsive UI in the market. Nokia really need to do something soon otherwise the iPhone will flood the market greatly affecting Nokia's popularity.
If the UI requires more CPU resources to improve the UI, so be it. It needs to compete with the iPhone since the fluid UI is its main selling point. I've used an iPhone, and when going back to the N97, its like going from Windows7/Vista back to Windows 2000/Me. For people who want great battery life, give them the option to turn off some of the CPU intensive UI rendering functions. If it means breaking away from S60v5 application compatibility, and releasing S60 Feature Pack 6 with the updated UI on the N97, I wouldn't complain personally. But with some clever coding, this can be avoided. Specifics: - Smoother touch scrolling in the menu's. Shame how the N97 doesnt have a proper 3D chip like the N95, it would have helped render silky smooth UI transitions and movements. But this can be done in software with some clever coding and RAM efficiency. Keep the whole menu surface in memory (like a texture in a 3D Card), and have the graphics subsystem pan the surface down while following the users finger at 15FPS or higher. At the moment it appears that the menu buttons are drawn in real time while the user scrolls, which saves on RAM but causes scroll problems. - Faster fluid UI. Some menus are terribly slow, and sometimes when you press a button, you dont know whats happening. Sometimes you press the button again thinking it didnt register the first press, which results in a double-press which enters the underlying button as well (the button that appears in the next screen). There needs to be a "loading" indication to tell us that the app is loading, and the 'beep' or sound needs to be different. One sound for "select", and another sound for "loading". - UI Drawing bugs need to be fixed. Sometimes I see overlapped text at the top of the web browser. I also see missing graphics/areas in SMS Messaging, and parts of the screen missing when apps load up. - UI Consistancy. Some areas scroll the wrong way, some areas don't scroll at all, scrolling speed needs to be consistant as well. |

1) The ability to make / hang up calls using the green / red buttons - not the swipe /wipe method
2) Music tracks able to be searched via letter search, not having to scroll through 1400 songs 3) Harmony between / menu;s / app's why are some 1 press others 2? 3) when i say yes i want to delete a file why do i need a conformation to do it again ? 4) Messaging, front screen widget, should allow you to review read exsisting texts / mails Mart |

you already can find a song without scrolling through all of them: Music Player>all songs>options>find, then type in the first few letters, works for artists too.
I agree with alot of what has been said, particularly about GPS. Maps 3 works fine on my N95. The web browser is good but alot of flash content doesn't work on some websites. The auto run of calendar, clock etc is annoying and the native task manager is awful. The 'bricking' bug when updating needs serious attention as does the menu title not being redrawn properly making a menu title unreadable. Off topic I know, but I'm getting fed up with all this Symbian bashing. It's Nokia's fault the firmware is half baked not Symbian's. S60 is not the ideal for touch screens I agree but it is very flexible and powerful. If people spent a little more time trying and exploring their phone then I believe they would be happier. |

Very good suggestions above. All but one of my suggestions is covered.....
E series style predictive (including punctuation) in all text entry fields (ie in web dialogs, widgets, apps etc, not just in messaging). Please, please, please Nokia, I really need this more than anything! |
