Honestly, if I hadn't bought an i8910 after the N97, I definitely would have bought a Hero. I know the i8910 is a lot better of a device, but... The Hero is pretty intriguing as well. Has a lot of flaws, sure, but the mere fact that even the older G1 can be easily flashed to the new OS and HTC's new SenseUI makes me wish I had picked a platform that was a bit more open. S60v5 is going to be short lived, we all know it. As soon as the Foundation releases drop, S60v5 is going to really flounder out. That would be fine if it had the same amount of time S60v3 had to mature, but... a year a great OS with tons of apps doesn't make.

As for the E72, that's a good option... but I don't think I could go back to a display that is only 320x240. If only Nokia would up that res for the v3 platform. We know Symbian scales well, it did completely fine on the E90! Other than that, I'm sure it is going to be a fantastic device.

Yep including a toaster and a hand heater in 1. Wouldn't "touch" one again with a bargepole.

Had a 3gs prior to my 97 and it got MUCH hotter than my 97, at least I can hold my Nokia without it putting a red mark on my palm......

Why not buy another Nokia... you have the N97 mini and the N900 to choose from!

Nokia Internet Tablet (N900/Rover) Images | The Symbian Blog

If they keep churning out qwerty based smartphones that all look alike and have similar featuresets, eventually one of them will be good!

The N900 might even have a lens cover that does not slowly destroy the camera!

the N900 is a tablet not a phone surely
the N810 was lovely mind you - but slower than a snail nailed to a plank.

sadly i see blue pads. ie dead camera lens covers.
