Does N97 have on-screen keypads for SMS messaging?

Does N97 have on-screen keypads for SMS messaging? Just like 5800 wherein you don't need to slide out the qwerty keypad anymore.

No it doesn't... Not so far anyway, although Nokia have said that they'll reinstate it if they consider that there's a demand for it. (I believe that it was removed from the prototypes for some reason)

Strangely enough, the N900 DOES have a virtual (on-screen) keypad though... Hmmm...

EDIT: The above refers to the qwerty keypad.

It does still have the alphanumeric on screen keypad in portrait mode though.

Hopefully we will see the return of the onscreen qwerty soon too

It also has onscreen keypad in landscape as well as portrait..is the OP asking if there is an onscreen QWERTY keypad perhaps?

Go to contacts, and press on your search bar.

That shows how nice (and accurate) it would look on this phone. It's so annoying, why does there need to be a demand for that? It's a feature! Options are always better than none. So stupid.

fldude, go to your contacts and click your search bar and you will see what the on screen keyboard looks like on the N97.
The rest of what he was saying is that it looks nice and we will probably (hopefully) get a touch keyboard to use in portrait mode. ( i Think)
