I have done and installed everything correctly and have followed all instructions on the "wink" page. But i get two major problems!

1. Whenever i go into the sip settings from within net settings/advanced voip settings/ and then try to exit i get an error that says "Net settings: System error (-1)". I have to do option/exit to get out.

2. When i go into contacts and click on the tab withe globe I see my sip number with login next to it but when I click on it nothing happens. No error or anything, its as if i didnt press it. If I try to go into option/ settings I get the page that has 4 options: user name, password, Default service, service connectivity. If i try to press defauylt service nothing happens, it stays on "no". If i go into it through options/open, it gives me the option of yes or no and i choose yes but it still stays on no. So something is not installing correctly.

I have an n97 running v20.0.019 custom version 20.0.019.c01.01 and rm-505. I am very phone and computer savvy and have uninstalled and reinstalled many times deleting all settings etc. It stays the same. PLEASE HELP!! I'm desperate!! Btw I'm trying to use gizmo not that that makes any difference. And yes the sip profile does register!

OK: 1) I also cannot exit from that page without going to options/exit. I don't get that error message however. But I don't see the issue with not being able to exit using the exit key. Doesn't affect the functionality of using the SIP settings to make a call.

2) When I click on the sip profile after going to menu/contacts, it logs in using my default internet connection. So if clicking on the profile doesn't log you in, go to options/log in. Why go to option/settings. Also: choose the SIP profile as default? Just leave it as "no".

Bottom line: Are you able to use your Gizmo SIP settings to make a call?

FLDUDE: thanx so much for your quick response! I was just telling u all my bugs just in case they are all connected. Bottom line is that i can NOT log in or make a call with my sip provider. Of course I tried options/login and it didnt do anything, I get the exact same thing that JAMES just explained! And nothing happens. Any ideas????

JAMES: THanx for ur reply! I get the same thing as you with the wifi symbol. Any solution? Were u ever able to login? I really need this to work, I'm relying on it!

I also have problems logging in at certain wifi hotspots...I'm not sure what it is, but I think some public hotspots have the 5060 port blocked for this kind of thing. Last nite I was at a restaurant that advertised free wifi and altho I could use it to browse the internet, it would not let me log into my voipcheap account. Have you tried different hotspots or log in using 3G?

FLDUDE99: I think u misunderstood me. The only wifi I tried using was my own which i rarely use for my phone. I tried connecting mostly through 3g cuz thats what I use most. It just does nothing when you try logging in!! Pls keep on trying! I really appreciate it!

^^Only other idea I have is if you enabled 3G with the instructions on wink?

Oh..also, try using UDP in your proxy and registrar settings..auto didn't work for me but UDP does

OK, my initial post was just a review of what was happening when I tried to set it up, I didn't think anyone here would be looking for the exact details.....
1. Admin Settings>Net Settings>Advance VOIP settings> Sip settings>
Cannot exit using the back button.....thats a bug no matter what way you look at it.
2. It seems to enable my WLAN scanning (which I always keep off to save the battery), no problem with this as its looking for a wireless spot to use, just wondering should it do this? I'm guessing it probably should hmmm
3. In contacts there is an icon with a globe&telephone in the top side scroll menu, as there should be.
If I click it I go to the "Log in (kiernai2)" screen as it should do.
If I click "Log in" it goes blue as if clicked and theres no change, all it does is enable WLAN scanning
If I click options>log in then it does same as above.

Now I'm in work at the mo and the wireless is hidden, so I've opened the browser and connected to create an active WLAN connection.
Still same results as with both above.

I've attached a txt file with all my settings in it.
Maybe there's something wrong but I'm 99% sure I'm right..........waits for No You're Not reply ;)
