Another maps problem after upgrade

Well i managed to ugrade ovi maps to the latest 3.03 version last week,was working very well on saturday when i was out and about,impressed with it,then i did the firmware upgrade to 2.1 and all ok,but thena day or so later for some reason i couldnt connect to the internet at all,no email or web,tried to check my settings but the phone wouldnt let me access my destination folder to check what connections i had,maybe a bug with v2.1 im not sure just wouldnt open the folder...anyway i did a hard resett and started from fresh,tried to update the maps to 3.03 and it started to download,but then almost at the end it failed,now im still on 3.01 and in sw updates it shows the newer version is there,but every time i try to update instead of saying starting to download,it says its starting to update,as if the file is already somewhere on the phone,and then fails...... this hapens every time,ive even tried the maps updater plugged into my pc,maps get deleted then updated,checks for newer version,but says im up to date,and still on v3.01...... any ideas whats gone wrong,phone seems stable enough now on the latest firmware just would like to get this maps issue sorted.

Hi Can you go to application manager and try and uninstall if Ovi/Nokia Maps in there and try and update from your phone not from your pc. Then you can add the maps from your PC.

Had a look and ovi maps is not listed in the application manager for me to delete,im thinking it must be somewhere if only partially hence its refusal to download the update again,and its constant .

And to be clear the updates that keep failing are through the SW updater on the handset itself, although the maps updater on the pc also failed to correct the problem.

Ditto here...nothing works..
And it seems it's not possible to load file from ovi maps on PC to then install on handset, unlike all other supported devices..weird..
I'd hoped that updating the firmware would help but obviously not..

The new version on latest firmware call Nokia maps when installed. If all fails I would do a hard reset and then try and install but make sure you back up any thing before do hard reset. I did format mass storage and then did a hard reset just to get rid of all old files and programs

I did do a hard reset after the problems i had,but that didnt help as i was still getting the failure message when trying to update..... how do you format the mass memory ? ive not tried that at least .

Formatting the mass memory should do the trick

Hi You got to open file manager it is in Apps/Office then there is a format option in the options menu. Mak sure you copy anything you have on it before if you don't have a back up of. If you do a backup be careful not to do full restore.

I have found all the Free apps I have installed now not free any more and be warned.

Right an update.... i formatted the mass memory after a back up,was then able to ugrade the map application to the latest version,but in the process of formatting all the actual maps themselves were deleted,so when i tried to use the program i actually was able to see nothing on the page apart from my gps co ordinates.... tried to use the map uploader to install new europe maps,but after an hour of waiting for the download to complete,it failed to load to the phone,so square one of sorts again,no maps....so i just re installed the back up i took ,didnt really want to do this as maybe the corrupted maps file might have caused issues,but so far all seems well and it looks like problem solved,thanks to all who offered advice.... appreciated.
