user-agent changing

As you may have already know, Nokia S60 browser is based on the same core with Ajax support just like the iPhone browser and it is expectable that both browsers interprets the web on the same way but it is not the case.

Mainly it happens because websites detects the phone model and change interface according to the device specification which results with completely different browsing experience on different devices. Following the huge popularity of the iPhone lot of web sites have created the special pages and pages designed for iPhone are easier to read and they are visually more pleasing.

HACK: Chnage your phone identity - Try "iPhone” on S60!

Someone was just asking about this the other day and couldn't find it covered so here ya go

Cheers for the heads up. I knew about website knowing what phone we were using when accessing their pages, but never knew that certain websites favoured certain handsets like the iPhone of all phones!

well this actually came up when they AT&T announced free WiFi at Starbucks for IPhone users. I think we were all hoping this was possible so everyone could get free WiFi but AT&T apparently just pulled that offer anyway

Well, I see you found the same thing I found, and at about the same time also.

Did you give it a try yet? I am having a problem signing the app, I get a file i/o error from SignSIS. I tried signing something else and SignSIS seems to be working fine.

If you have any thoughts, let me know.

Thanks!

Never mind. I got it signed. For some reason it didn't like being in the default unzipped folder. Once I pulled the unsigned file out of there it worked fine.

Does anyone know if it can be undone? I don't want to install this hack and have no way of changing my browsers user-agent back.

I haven't tried this yet nor do I know if it works, I just remembered discussing if it was possible and then saw this so I figured I'd pass it along.
Might want to check the forums over there to see if anyone has had issues
