phone recovery

i got NSS, followed the guide and changed my product code.

i then got the nokia software updator, it told me the update was v 21.0.016, it did its thing for a while, then it got to the updating software part, and told me it would take 15 mins to do it, then all of a sudden i get this message:

phone recovery, please remove battery and charger, insert battery and charger, hold power button for few seconds then click retry.

i did all this, a number of times, then it says it cannot detect my phone.

did i do something wrong?? what do i do now? it says if i remove the usb it will damage the phone.

thanks for any help.

I've had that message before, and i soiled myself just about.
Just stay calm and follow the prompts and instructions and it should all work out fine.

So your phone is fine but NSU can't detect it?

If so then completely uninstall and reinstall all the Nokia software including the phone drivers.

just to update people, i think it may be some kind of problem with the updater itself, i downloaded it onto my boyfriends computer and it gives the exact same message.

when you get to the part where you are asked to take out the battery etc, DO NOT DO IT, just click retry and your software will update.

Hi,

I'm having the EXACT same problem after changing the product code! The phone restarts during update then disconnects and I get the the phone recovery message but it happens every single time! Is there anything I can do to fix this?
