In the attached files you'll find everything you need to build your own 17 caps certificate from scratch without having to use anything, you will need nothing more than the package, no internet connection, no nothing, just the package...


Please post your results, it has been tested, it is working, it has been done by drakkarious, no other credits will be given except for his friend nicesoni_ash that gave him many ideas about how a certificate works ^^...

Sp00kEdit: N.B This doesn't seem to work too well for some people just yet.

Currently there are surer ways to obtain a DevCert... See the link in my sig.

Will be interested to hear peoples results on the above.

In the meantime, can anyone confirm this one below still works?

Ok i got it wrong. Ive downloaded the files and loaded up the doc and it seem straight forward but im still puzzled. Ive just spent 30 mins searching the net and on here and im still confused as there doesnt seem to be any guides on this.

Righty then, this is a program that signs something. I dont know how or what or where.....My questions are.

I have a copy of "PROGRAM X" that is unsigned and wont work,

Once i have used drakkarious program to make a signed file, how do i then install "PROGRAM X"

After reading the tutorial i beleive i am left with 2 files, Drakkarious.key and Drakkarious.cer

At no point in making these 2 files was "PROGRAM X" ever needed so does this mean once i have created these 2 files, i just copy them into a folder next to "PROGRAM X", then run my program and it will install ok?

So if i had different program that didnt install, i would just put these 2 files in the same folder and it will install ok?

I thought dev certs were specific to the program you were trying to install? or are they just generic and just use your IMEI number?

So does this mean to install an unsigned file on a phone, wether it be an N82, N95, N96 or N85 all i need is the phones IMEI number? and i can use this prog to create a dev cert for that particular phone to install anything?

Sorry is this is a daft question, but im no cabbage and ive searched high and low on this forum and found nothing of help. Everything seems to point to entering your IMEI on a website which i dont want to do. And i cant find any answers to my questions.

So if someone could help me in simple terms, not just say "obtain a dev and your done" i would be most grateful. Thanks

Once you have your certificate and key, you use another program to modify the file you want to sign... i.e. You sign it.

Look HERE for details of how to obtain the program to do this.

I have just created certificates for my N97. One with 13 Capabilities, one with 17 Capabilities and finally one with 20 Capabilities :-) Don't think I will really need to use them, however apprently using the 20 Cap cert will allow me to install ROMPatcher and install unsigned apps without fully hacking my phone. Don't really want to try it as I don't want to void my warrenty just yet :-P

Created them with the Drakkarious program? have you tested them out with an unsigned file yet?
