Nokia messaging.

Ok, so what's the deal?

I shy away from using this because it tells me it's a trial version and I might have to pay one day.

I'm *not* paying for email on my phone, something which is free for other smartphones (lets ignore BB here).

I noticed it's come with the latest dumbphone, the 6303i classic.

First question - is there a date when they will start charging for it?

Second - is there any idea how much it will be?

I don't want to start using it now, only for it to suddenly switch to having to pay.

Last time I used it, while the UI was OK, it was slow, buggy and, the most annoying thing for me,it maintained a constant open connection to netwrok or wifi. It could not be set to just check emails every so often..eitheir off and no updates, or constantly on..
A stupid way of doing things

mine can, you can set it to either check every however often for a set peak time, eg. 8am to 6pm, checking every hour, and at the weekends every 4 hours. or you can turn it off completely

Apart from business, I don't see how charging for email is viable.. If they'd start charging I'd use the web to check said email: it works very well with gmail on Opera and my home email as well..

Cool..I wonder when that was introduced. I even tested it after it "graduated" and it still didn't offer that possibiliy.

The app depends on the device used, the N97 used an external app, the N86 uses an internal one (same as the N900).
Nokia Messaging is push email, so it sends the email to your inbox as it arrives at the server.
Twitter / Hagop Kavafian: #Nokia #Messaging is not f ... mentions that Nokia sent him an email stating that he had to pay to start using it
