Afraid tracking by IMEI is not possible. The only thing you can do, is to report it stolen, and get the IMEI blocked.

thanks, its a shame, i did called my service provider and had it blocked
Sadly its probably in the hands of some muppet who bought it down the market, or fomr his mate at the pub.
hmm. isn't there a way of tracking it with the built-in GPS?
Nope, a common misconception. GPS helps the device itself locate where it is. GPS devices recieve signal, not broadcast it.
oh. ok. then isn't there a way tracking it when it uses W/Lan..?

My "backup" phone is a Constellation.
I saw a neat app a few weeks ago that sends an SMS to a number of your choice when another SIMcard is inserted, which is what thieves usually do right away, and then blocks the phone entirely,so "the thief" is screwed basically, but for the life of me,I can't remember where I saw it,I think it was the offiicial Nokia app page.
that would be handy..
it would be even handier if there was such a way for the phone to give the thieving swines an electric shock, or just blow up whilst in their pockets, effectively hitting them in the nuts![]()
my boss has lost his Scirocco a few months ago,the cops found it--unbelievable,isn't it?!--they actually found it via some code inside the phone, and you know who had it?????
An adorable older couple who were behind him in the supermarket.
Yeah, now that I remember,it was the IMEIIIII-what you said-thingy.But a fortunate turn of events nevertheless. The only case in which I actually whitnessed the stolen thing being returned.I thought that happened only in movies.
google phone guardian or advanced device locks pro is what i use, u can delete your phone contacts etc via a sms to your phone if its lost or stolen. I got it from www.mobihand.com
my n81 is lost about 6 months can i know what number now they are using and my imei: *deleted*

1 - don't post in old threads.
2 - the answer to your question is no. face up to the fact that your phone is gone forever (didn't you get another one to replace it?).
3 - don't post your IMEI on the web (although that hardly matters in this case).
my nokia N 70 imei no. is REMOVED was lost .

my mobile is theft in my street. I know the my imei number please search the my phone
you cannot track your IMEI. we cannot track your IMEI. it is not possible.
contact the police and tell them that your phone has been stolen.
contact your telephone company and tell them that your phone has been stolen.
"it's not rocket surgery".
The cost of a phone is £100, the cost of the police or some detective company tracking/hunting and finding your phone would run into thousands. Every day thousands of phones go missing/get stolen/lost etc.
The cost to these organisations would be astronomical, Do you really think the police/detectives have nothing better to do? lol
Its just like damage to your car, if your car gets stolen, burnt out, smashed, broken into etc the police dont care, thier response is "its an insurance issue" and i can agree with them, Just write off your loss and get it replaced.
I was thinking about mobile security the other day and the best thing you can really do is put a pin lock on your phone. So everytime its turned off, you need to enter the pin to use it. To my knowledge theres no way around this. Im always swapping my sim cards so you have to think, any sort of phone blocking software or sending out an electric shock would screw ME up lol
To the user a phone is your life, it holds your photos, music, contacts, texts, internet passwords etc. To a phone company its a peice of plastic and you should have insurance.
If you report a fone stolen, all the service provider will do is block your phone and cancel the sim. The phone is lost
forever.
