Today's mobile handsets are more than simple phones. With integrated still cameras, video cameras, music playback and data processing capabilities, mobiles are mobile computers. But without network access, a mobile computer is a data desert island - hard to get data onto and hard to get data off.

SymSMB 2.00 connects your Series 60 3d edition Symbian mobile phone to any trusted PC network and turns your mobile into a mobile networked computer without need for extra cables, without need to install PC software and without establishing an account at yet another Web site.

SymSMB 2.00 is adding that missing and essential part to S60 3rd Ed. - the network access.

The access provided by SymSMB 2.00 is universal - you could use computer to transfer files to and from phone or you could use phone to manage and move files between phone to computer.

Therefore, a cell phone could be a mobile network server and a client at the same time, by the way, one can even have phone to phone access, if both of them are powered by SymSMB 2.00. As for "wireless" part the following bearers can be used: Wi-Fi (infrastructure and Ad hoc mode), 3G, GPRS, Bluetooth - in general, any bearer that can be formed as Symbian Access Point.

SymSMB 2.00 is compatible with any computer under Windows XP / 2000 / 2003 / Vista, Linux, Mac/OS X.

Let's see just a few simple examples of what you can do with SymSMB 2.00.
  • Move any files and folders between your phone and computer with clicks of your mouse in your favorite browser on big monitor complimented by convenience of regular computer keyboard. If you do know how to copy and paste, then you are the expert
in wireless file transfer already! What could be easier?
  • Use all powerful search options of your computer to search over all your mobile phone files. How are you doing it now?
  • Take a picture of a friend on your phone and see that brand new smile at your computer monitor the very next moment.
  • Use your phone from WLAN hot spots in local coffee place to browse and copy files to and from your home computer, have you ever given this any consideration?
  • Copy pictures, video and music files between your phone and your friend's phone at the same Wi-Fi spot.
  • Synchronize file and folders between phone and PC (and/or other mobile phones) the way you like.

More information can be found at the following links:
To download directly on your mobile phone, you could use the following link: http://www.telexy.com
then click on "Products" and choose SymSMB v.2.00.

P.S. It would be nice to keep this thread as a place for more general talk about SymSMB 2.00 application
like what it can and cannot do, suggestions for improvements, criticism, comments and so on.

On another hand, if you have a problem with configuration of this application in your particular situation,
please feel free to use this Troubleshooting SymSMB 2.00 forum at telexy web site
where you are welcome to create you own thread and get all the attention it deserves.
This way your post will not be mixed with posts of other users here and it will be more easy for everyone.
All Personal Messages (PM) will be answered as well. Thanks.

Thanks for including us in this promotion. I can testify that this software is a huge time and hassle saver. I hate wires, and for me, this all but does away with them.

Thanks for the discount to our users, and thanks for developing a fantastic piece of software.

Cheers

This is quite possibly the very best piece of software for the N95!

I've been wanting something like this since I bought the phone - why should I have to use an USB cable when the damn thing comes with Wi-Fi?!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Very intuitive too; without using any instructions I've been able to get onto my home network and browse my drives in less than 5 minutes.

Well done Telexy!

I am not getting it...
I am seeing that purchases using this special promotion (see first post in this thread) are made,
but no one is contacting me about entering the draw to get full money back!
Is this software that good that no one even want to have it for free?
Am I loosing some messages or what?
Should I start my own investigation to track IP addresses, Emails, User Names,
IMEI numbers, Transaction ID numbers and so on in order to give someone money back?
Time is running out in a few days, 2007/Nov/05.
If by that time no one will contact me to enter the draw, then Free License will be send to this forum administration and they will decide who will get it for free!

You are right. The wireless router connected
with wires or wirelessly to one computer or to many computers in network, will do the job.

Default Great functionality, but it's still slow ?

Okay, I give you that. SymSMB is very good. It does exactly what I'd have expected the phone to do out of the box really, ie, have proper wireless access in order to copy files.

But it is still slow. What's the bottleneck, the phone or the software ? (I have a N95 8GB).

I'm copying an album to it now, and it's taken about 12 minutes for 84mb. That's what, around 650mbits/sec ? Slow for any 802.11x network.
