recording software

Moving on from the closed thread, are there any programmes available where you can record calls without there being a beep? My intention is if someone is giving me instructions over the phone I can record them without the annoying beep - and you only have to get their consent if you intend to allow any third party to access the recording. This would be for my own personal use.

I know there was something for the N95 but I can't remember the name so is there anything for the 5800?

I think maybe the other thread was worded in a way to suggest something dodgy might be going on. As I've demonstrated there are occasions where there is a legitimare use.

Thanks neil btw - it's not the one I used before but it will do just as well.

I use Ultimate Voice Recorder 5, records all incoming/outgoing calls, NO beep, many options, cant think of any way it could be bettered to be honest. Every call ive ever made/recieved in the last 2 years is on my phone in AMR format. You can even choose wave if you wanted quality.

curious though.. if it is illegal to remove the beep, why are there applications out there that allow you to record without the beeping sound?

Software that enables recording telephone conversations without a pulsed tone audible to the party called and records without their knowledge, carries a warning that the software may be illegal to use in some countries and that purchasers should therefore use it at their own risk.

To ensure the legality of the forum in this respect, we repeat this warning!

Thanks for that - how do I install it? Where do I save it?

It's not necessarily illegal - I'm assuming you're in the UK too? Here we can record our own phone calls without the other party knowing as long as it's for our own private use and nobody else will have access to the recording. For example if someone is giving me directions I can record the call so I can make a note of them later. But I'd be breaking the law if I then played that recording back to someone else UNLESS I have the consent of the person I recorded.
