Google Application Updates
The following is quoted from Symbian Guru:
Quote:
Just this afternoon, in their usual quiet manner, Google released updates to its YouTube and Google Maps apps for Symbian-powered smartphones. The updates are rather big ones, though unfortunately neither of the apps have the ability to automatically check for new versions, before or after the update.

The new YouTube app now fully supports S60v5 phones, such as the Samsung OmniaHD i8910 and the Nokia N97. Sadly, there is still no ability to login to your YouTube account from the application, to view your favorite videos or read messages or anything.

The new version of Google Maps Mobile is really cool because it adds layers, which can show helpful information on top of your local map. Available layers include your personal maps, which means you can now store favorites on Google Maps desktop and then access those on your phone. Very cool, and directly competing with Ovi Maps.
You can get both downloads by going to Google Mobile on your phone’s web browser.
