N97 Style Homescreen On 5800

Found this on another forum, just what i been looking for allows more icons on the home screen.

Install ALL .sis files around 7 of them.

1. Run Gdesk Gdesk v0.33g
2. Go to Design
3. Load Design
4. Load gdd File
5.Enjoy!!

Already signed tested works 100% on 5800 v30

I have tried a few of these gdesk themes, not bad. Unfortunately it also still has some bugs, some notice them some do not. I do.

Can you post a screenshot?
And you should probably edit the title, since it's not the real N97 homescreen

I tried an iphone gdesk theme, looked nice but, a) i couldn't figure out how to get it to auto boot and b)would i want it to auto boot over handy shell? COs that is quite good.

It is really custimisable gdesk though. Do they have any sliding transitions on it for the 5800 yet?

Enable theme effects on the N97 (works on 5800XM too)

You can have them without having gdesk installed.

Thanks, i think you misunderstood though.

Dunno if you've seen the gdesk themes on the older sony ericsson touch phones? They have iphone themes that actually slide like an iphone.

So installing that would not just modify the home screen but aslo replaces whatever theme I am using?

It's an app, it doesn't replace the original homescreen

I don't think I said it replaced the home screen, but it obviously alters it since it adds more icons and a different/N97 look.
What is not clear to me is: if I install this app will the various menus keep the look/theme that I currently have/run on my phone, or will they be reset to the standard nokia theme or even to a look provided by said app?

The app runs independantly from the phones home screen, it uses it's own wallpapers as well. You can minimise it at anytime and your phoe will be exactly the same as it was.

i installed the app but pretty soon removed it. from what i can remember, whatever theme you have installed the homescreen will default to the theme provided by the app (see photo in the first post).
