First of all a big hello from me (newbie)!
I have downloaded the zipped file, but I'm not having any luck trying to certificate the applications on the symbian link. I keep getting a message saying 'network connection fail, please try again'. Is there anyone that could have a go for me,or help me in any way?

Welcome to the forum mate.

Can you give a bit more detail of where you're getting held up? You need to be going to the symbian site, uploading the file, populate your IMEI and some other anti spam fields, then wait the for download link to your email. Should be easy.

Lot's of how-to's on the forum if you have a look round, so need need for me to double post it here.

You'll find loads of good stuff here.

Come back if you have any more probs and don't forget the THANKS button if you think a post is useful.
;)

It's Broke?

Did you know that your Nokia comes with a 2 year warranty? Did you know that Carphone Warehouse are Nokia Repair Centres?
Damage from normal use: wobbly slider, broken keys, quiet earpiece etc... will be repaired for free, and usually the same day if you take it to a big store!

Have been looking at the format of the speedcam.txt, and also trying to find places to download. I found the following link ...GATSO in United Kingdom - Safety GPS POI data directory for TomTom, Garmin, Navman, Destinator and other GPS devices. - GPS POI Data

But none of the files that I download, seem to be in the correct format, whats the best way to change without too much time?, or other places to download upto date speed cams. Are the ones from pocketgpsworld in the correct format?

Here are examples of the format they have

Garmin
-2.385006, 52.787723, "DS2_10035851"

If they have commas between the data, change the file extension to CSV, then open it in Excel or ooCalc. Then you can move the columns around, sort and add descriptions on mass, resave it and change the extension back to TXT.

I think this and the correct format is detailed in the previous page...

Only reason I was asking on the format was, on the example on previous page ... it was

-4.39150,55.80222,GATSO@30

whereas, the format that I had found was

-2.385006, 52.787723, "DS2_10035851"

So, it was similar, but did not have the GATSO@30 type format, so was not sure if that made any difference?

the format must be LONG,LAT,NAME@SPEEDLIMIT

If you edit in word pad and remove the spaces & speechmarks will work but the @30 at the end will set the speed limit. Yours will just show the POI and not warn you.

Thanks for the clarification MadCow, would you happen to know (or anyone that is), if the pocketgps version of the database does have the NAME@SPEEDLIMIT ........... as I have not signed up to it yet.

I've just got this installed, with the list from the first page. I'll be driving past a few fixed cameras tomorrow, so i'll see how well it works!
