FoneBook
Not sure where this fits really. Its a PC application that allows you to sync your Facebook contacts with your Outlook contacts, and in turn sync to your phone but the beauty is (apparently, not tested myself) is your friends Facebook profile picture is stored in your phones contacts too!

Anyone willing to try!?

Well, all I can say is WOW. This application is awesome.
I use facebook ALOT, and have 300 added friends, also with 250+ ish of phone book contacts.
I installed the application, first thing I did was Re Sync all new contacts with Outlook. I then ran the Fonebook application, Entered my facebook user name and password,it then logged in, pulled all my friends data, name, profile image for a contact image birthday details too.
It then shown me two boxes, as seen below. One for matching contacts, and non matching.

It then gives you "unmatched" these are one that could not be matched automatically in outlook contacts. ( if you have a nick name instead or if the name isn't exact say for Work Alex, work Jon etc etc. )

All you do is click on "Sync Options" and then select the contact you're matching, and click "Match user" you can do this for all the "UN paired" contacts and then click "Sync Contacts" at bottom right. This writes them to your outlook folder, which you'll then need to " Sync" to your phone.

That is pretty impressive mate. Thanks for trialling it. I might have a go myself.

This is pretty awesome if it does what I think it does.
And what I think it does is take your friends' names and numbers from Facebook so you can put them straight on your phone, so I don't have to spend years typing in phone numbers.
I'm gonna give this a go. Great idea for an app.

Well, bit disappointing actually. It didn't do what I thought it did.
What I wanted was an app that would leech all the appropriate details from each friend's profile page (namely name, photo, mobile number, birthday, email address, etc.) and sync that with Outlook so you can then sync with your phone, and thus have all your contacts in your phone book complete with profile pictures, phone numbers, birthdate and email address all filled in.
But it doesn't do that. It just takes the name, picture, web page and birthday. And it seems it puts the friend's latest status update in the "Notes" bit.
Darn it. Still, excellent idea for an app. Hopefully they'll make it a bit more useful for me at some point.

Davers, thats un likley to ever happen, because face book profiles don't show mobile numbers and also many users have the option to show an E-Mail address turned off as well. So that'll never happen.
The notes bit is slightly annoying, I havn't looked back to see if you can exclude that. But it doesn't bother me that much for now.

Yeah, you can choose what you want it to sync, so you can disable the notes from appearing.
Facebook profiles do show mobile numbers if the user has put their number in. At least half of my friends have their mobile numbers on their profiles.
There's no option to hide your email, but I just remembered that the email address is rendered as an image in order to prevent spammers picking up the addresses from the profile, so that's out. But name/photo/mobile number would have been fantastic.
Oh well. Great if you want to sync your Outlook and Facebook profiles... not much use with my N95 though

Seeing as this was posted in Feb, and few months down the line Facebook has now become even more popular. Some users might have missed this back then, so I'll bump it up for newer users also.
