Ovi Life Tools to Launch Healthcare Channels in India and Indonesia

    Posted in: General
      |  by: Micky

oltI’m a big supporter of Ovi Life Tools, and having had the pleasure to meet one of the worlds leading experts from Lonely Planet, Frances Linzee Gordon whilst at Nokia World last year in Germany, I know all too well how important, and life changing Ovi Life Tools is.

Nokia/Ovi Life Tools has thus far saved many lives in remote, and isolated areas in third world countries, and has even brought a better way of life to many communities, and families too by bringing live, up to date data to users mobile devices which in turn has helped businesses get the best prices available for their farms produce.

Following on the steps of the very promising reception in both China and Nigeria, Life Tools will next launch its healthcare channel in India and Indonesia soon. The healthcare service topics varies from market to market but includes things like pregnancy and childcare, respiratory, hepatitis B, women’s health, men’s health, diabetes and general health and fitness.

Think of the amount of people in rural areas of emerging markets without health facilities close-by – simple health awareness messages and information like these can help make a difference in their lives. And all this can be done without a packet data connection, as this service is based solely on text messages.

For further details on this latest Life Tools expansion, head across to Ovi Blog.  More information also available over at Nokia Conversations, Nokia’s Official Blog.

      |  by: Micky

nhrHaving been lucky enough to visit Nokia House myself, I can confirm its an amazing place with really interesting architecture mainly consisting from glass, its beautiful.

My first visit was a memorable one, being a Nokia enthusiast, it was a longtime passion of mine to go to the Holy Grail of Nokia.

Nokia Conversations have recently published a series of new photos showing you more than just the public areas from inside the Holy Grail, showing you the Sauna, and exercise rooms which cater for Nokia employees. Each time I have visitied Nokia House, I always feel a relaxing environment.

    nhg

Nokia House is located by the seaside and depending on where you happen to sit, you can admire either a gorgeous seaview or a congested motorway from its large windows. The majority of staff sit in open-plan offices and squabble over meeting rooms – there are never enough available!

Head across to Nokia’s Official Blog Nokia Conversations to see for yourself, the great Nokia House in all it’s glory.

Nokia’s Nordic Marketing Manager, Tuomas Lonka on the Importance of Customer Interaction

    Posted in: General
      |  by: Micky

nnNordic Marketing Manager, Tuomas Lonka talks to the NSeries blog on the importance of Customer Interaction.  He goes on to answer a few questions from the NSeries Blog, which I have included below.  You can read the full Q&A over at the NSeries Blog here.

What do you think makes good marketing at the moment?

“So many things. But I think it’s really important to give people the chance to interact with our products and give the developers access to the audience for their services. Good marketing should always be an experience, whatever format it takes.

Our recent Angry Birds tournament in Finland is a great example of this. You see young kids as young as 5 or 6 just picking up the Nokia N8 and instinctively knowing how to use it – it’s amazing. And they’re getting involved because they’re having fun. The new generation is just so in-tune with technology that it makes our jobs as marketers really interesting going forward.”

What do you think we’ll be seeing more of in the future?

“I’m personally really excited about the many opportunities we have to reach people across all channels – not just digital. We have so many possibilities for what we can bring to the audience and the way we engage them.

This is particularly true when you think about the blending of the physical and virtual worlds – especially in gaming. We’re also seeing motion sensor manipulation having an impact on retail marketing. And it’s exciting – we can allow people to really interact with high-quality products and services from all angles, whether it’s instore or through the screen of their TV, PC or mobile.”

Arja Suominen Say’s Goodbye to Nokia after 25 Years – Shares DNA Story

    Posted in: General
      |  by: Micky

asArja Suominen, former Nokia Communications head of Nokia says Goodbye to the company after 25 years, and shares her story about Nokia, and the NokiaDNA, telling us how different Nokia has changed over the years since she joined the company.

She states that when she first joined Nokia back in 1986, they specialised in Paper, and rubber, and supplied the UK of 30% of their total supply of loo roll. ·This may not seem newsworthy alone, so I will let you read the full, and touching story over at Nokia Conversations.

Here’s one of the questions Nokia Conversations asked Arja, proving that she understands the importance of Nokia’s Official Blog.

NC: Any advice to us people running Nokia Conversations?

AS: Conversations always brings me great pleasure. It’s been an enormous success – it’s now the fourth most popular corporate blog. I’d love you to continue to increase the reach and readership figures. The increasing number of languages will certainly drive that.

But there’s something more important than that. It must always remain a place where people can discuss, argue and raise new questions. You started a true dialogue and that’s something very precious.

Head over to Nokia Conversations to read the full Q&A about Nokia’s DNA through the eyes of Arja. On behalf of Nokiausers, I would like to wish Arja all the very best for her future ventures, and hope that she stays in touch!

Nokiausers Ovi Store Application Rejected more times than Simon Cowells leftovers

    Posted in: General
      |  by: Micky

scJust so you know, our Nokiausers readership, we here at Nokiausers have tried very hard to get our very own Ovi Store application submitted to be available for you all to follow our news, reviews, and interviews on your Nokia device, but sadly, just like Simon Cowell on a bad day, we keep on getting rejected time, and time again.

The reasons for these continued rejected submissions to Ovi Store are somewhat confusing. ·Ovi Store representatives keep telling me that because Nokiausers has ‘Nokia’ in its name, it breaches copyright. ·Balls to that, if this is the case, then why are there so many other blogs and sites being accepted into Ovi Store with their apps? ·

Many of the submitted, and accepted apps I and many others have noticed not only have ‘Nokia’ in their app name, there are also several apps been accepted with the name, ‘Symbian’, or ‘Maemo’, and even ‘MeeGo’. I am getting tired of being asked daily by my followers as to why Nokiausers don’t have an application available in Ovi Store.

So come on Nokia, why reject our submissions all the time?  There has been many of my friends from Nokia/Ovi on twitter that have tried to help me get Nokiausers app in Ovi Store, but each and every time, we hit a brick wall.!  What gives!?!
