Alarm set - phone needs 2 cycles to boot

When I set an alarm on my 808 and turn the phone in the morning on it boots, then shows the homescreen for ca. 10 seconds and then boots again. After this second boot everything is ok and the screen stays. If no alarm is set the phone needs only one boot. Any ideas what could cause this strange behaviour??

Not 100% sure but there is a facility for a 'wake up'. That is you can set the alarm, turn the phone off and the alarm will still function. So I assume that if you do set the alarm and turn the phone off then it will boot up to give the alarm. [Alarm set time acting as a timer to boot up] then when the timer/alarm is cancelled it goes back to the last operating command which is to be in the switched off position - hence you needing to boot it up again.

I use my phone as an alarm every day with no issues. So I guess its the fact that you turn it off. Answer: do not set the alarm and then turn off. Do one or the other. Seems to me it is doing what it should.

Thank you for your reply. I can see your point, but it does even two boots when I set an alarm, let's say for example 23.11. 8.00 a.m. but turn the phone off 22.11. 5.00 p.m. and turn it on again 5 minutes later. Without the set alarm for the next day it would boot normal.

Hmmm.............let me try to replicate it on mine.....ok I have just set my alarm to 0730 [am] [22/11/12] and turned it off. I turn it back on again and boots to normal one time only. Other than said previously I have no idea at all as to what it might be. Some sort of software glitch? Something to do with retrieving local time?

I played around and found this: When I set the phone to PIN code request off, then it boots normal one time with an alarm set, when set to PIN code request on, it needs 2 boots when an alarm is set. No alarm set and PIN code request on, normal boot one time.

Ah......never thought of that. I tend not to use PIN codes......always screws me up somehow.
