What apps are people using? My list within.

Just wondering what apps people are using with their 808's?

    For myself these are key:

    • gNewsReader - the only good RSS reader app for Symbian that I can find for those with large numbers of feeds, Pocket integration is a total must for me
    • Quasar MX - music player, can play FLAC files (a must for me), decent interface, album art downloads, LastFM scrobbling, LastFM band Wiki display, reads tags properly, gapless playback, intelligent clipping prevention
    • Tweetian - Twitter client
    • Opera Mobile - something better than the god-awful stock browser

Just the very presence of Quasar MX, gNewsReader and Tweetian make using the 808 doable for me.

What other clutch apps are you all using?

I've got Nokia Sleeping Screen on my 808- kinda brightens it up.
    Battery Monitor.

I use the BBC iplayer a lot to download and watch on the bus to work.

I use the 'Hundred press ups' / 'Two hundred Squats' etc etc for fitness.
I use Sportstracker extensively when I'm out hill walking.
I use 'Astroller' for star gazing.
I use 'Panorama' for taking panoramics (why is there no official Nokia release for this)!

Soundtracker is pretty good for music and for discovering new music too.

Couple of other apps / games I've got on my phone- 'Particles' - pointless- but fun!
Cut the rope- great fun game
Sparkle, Fruit Ninja, Contre Jour and angry birds.

I do not use any other than those that came with the phone/update. I have no need of them.

Why would you not use any new apps- I don't use a huge number of apps with my 808- however, there are a lot of useful / fun apps out there.

Why not try some of the apps suggested by people on here?

I just checked and in fact I lied I have 'Converter' by Offscreen Technologies which I use quite a lot. I have had it for ages and got it on my N8 as well. 'Fun apps' well nah not into games or other such stuff. I have had a glance through various sources but have found nothing of use to me.

So far as I am aware there is no 'Weather App' for the 808 and whatever there is will probably be crap anyway. It's nothing to do with being in Belgium. The best you can get for weather is to access a decent site appropriate for your needs via the web [locate the site using the web browser then bookmark it for further use later]. I always use the British Weather Services mainly because I am familiar with them but there are others out there. You need to understand that 'Symbian' is no longer in fashion so there are few if any people out there who are writing stuff for Nokia and most of the stuff that is available can be either out of date or not necessarily what you think you want.
