    thinking of buying a pureview..

I'm looking to get one but I just need to know what this thing is like as a phone! Most reviews have concentrated on the camera and very little is actually said about the phone.
Can anyone please tell me what it's like for:

Push email using gmail -this is vital and a deal breaker if it doesn't work properly
    Messaging
    Call quality
    Reliability
Syncing with Google contacts and calendars
    Is there a notification led?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

If you set up your Google account as an exchange accout you will have no problems with contacts, calndar or emails. Push email is not a problem, messaging, call quality, reliability are the usual high standard for Symbian Nokias, there is a notification LED plus lock screen notifications.

I thought they were supposed to have stopped it months ago according to earlier rumours. I cannot say what Google will or will not do in the future.

It's working fine, I have it on mine. My point was about rumours.

    That's great, thanks.
Do these things tend to be reliable?
The official uk models cost around 500GBP but the import ones are a lot more affordable. Nokia uk tell me that they won't warranty the imports so I need it to be reliable!

I would never buy a grey import which means it is without UK warranty, especially such an expensive handset. It is a complicated device with many things which can go wrong. IMHO it would be a false economy.

My 808 has been flawless so far, but things can always go wrong and the comfort of the 24-month warranty is very important for me.

I have had my 808 for over a year now and not a single problem - oh I tell a lie - last month broke the lanyard....lol. Seriously, reliable, full functionality in everything I need and no grief at all. Only comment I have is - the camera is just too good but so is the phone.

    Thanks!
Unfortunately, I can't afford one from Nokia uk so I have to take the risk and buy an import. Hopefully, it will be fine!
