    Product Codes for N85

To everybody with the European variant of the N85, could you guys please post your product codes and the related country? Some of us purchased N85's online that were manufactured for the Hong Kong market and the FM transmitter is disabled. Hassan over at allaboutsymbian was nice enough to share the APAC codes. Let's start compiling a list of EURO codes!

    Thank you in you advance!

It just says 'Nokia N85-1' and 'UK CV Copper' and 'Made in Finland' as well as including my IMEI number.

    Does that help?

If you can get NSS to reconize the N85 then you can flash it with a Euro Code to enable FM transmitter.

Wifi is a module built into the phones board.

The product code is on the white sticker in the phone underneath the battery.

Yes ! assuming the phone you get has valid warranty in your region

If I can work out how to get a screen shot i'll upload a list of product codes and the regions they are associated to

in europe yes. in asia, i don't think so. well maybe yes too, only that they haven't started enforcing it yet. i've sent in a phone with the product code changed before, and they didn't even bother about it

to be fair I have seen a few product code changed phones and Nokia have still paid for the repair but the minute Nokias decides to stop paying for the repair is the minute we will stop repairing them

nokia didnt bother when u changed your product code? from what ive read here they can detect whether uve changed it or not. so youre saying if i send my phone to a nokia store in malaysia with a changed product code, they wouldnt mind? n my warranty would still be covered?

you can always change your product code back to its original before the repair as well, so there are other options out there

Product code update but still not getting the FM Transmitter

Did you change your product code and get the FM Transmitter to work on your N85? I also have the same kind of phone and just changed my product code to 0555817: EURO 1 Copper and Copper. Unfortunately, I still don't see the FM Transmitter feature yet. And I wonder what I did wrong

Dannyla, as mentioned in my other post to you, you're not mentioning anything about actually updating the firmware via Nokia Software Updater.

Have you ran this from PC suite yet, or just changed the PC ?
