    Good question.

I'll most likely need to change the product code when i get my black version, do the Warm Titanium / Light Titanium work for it?

I did it, and it worked perfectly. I had 0566174
and I replaced it with 0549174

In this way I have English/German/Spanish/Portuguese languages instead of Philippine/English.

Just checked my product code from Orange, its 0566152. I don't think i'm willing to change it and void my warranty to be unbranded, not yet anyways!

Hmmm, just done mine, changed it to the simfree black N82 one, and it went through and updated something, but when my phone came back on, it still has all of the Orange icons and things on the menus and in the options? How come it hasn't taken them off. I've just tried using the O2 postpay codes aswell but when i change the product code then go into NSU it just says everything is upto date and doesnt download/update anything.

Product codes are used my the Nokia Software Update service to know what Firmware is sent to you phone when updating. Each country has configuration defaults like language, connection settings etc. Also carriers like to *******ise the Firmware to suit themselves, usually by removing features and they get their own product codes also.

So many people choose to change the Product Codes in their Nokia phones, commonly referred to as debranding. Product codes are changed using Nemesis Software Suite, to find out more about this have a look at the Nemesis Service Suite updated ( works with latest NSU ) thread to find out more.

I have followed all the steps and successfully changed the product code into my desired one. I was able to change the product code. However, I cant get Nokia Software Updater working and my phone does not read and not even show my desired language choice.

    Anyone has any idea?

You need to be more specific about "I cant get Nokia Software Updater working" - which version NSU are you using and what exactly happens (or not) ?

    Hi

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your reply.

NSU crashes everytime i try to update or reupdate the firmware after I change my phone's product code. NSU does not even recognize my phone (the phone is plugged in via USB port and the mode is PC SUIT.) my n82 firmware is version 20 now and NSU version 1.4.53 en.

    What is wrong?

I am still confused - if NSU cannot recognise your phone how can it crash every time you try to install/reinstall the firmware ?

Does PC Suite recognise your phone as connected ? If yes, try running the NSU from PC Suite.

I got my phone a while back and it has a product code not found in this list.

    0558382

It's the white version and has a few strange characters to the left of the 1,2,3,4,5 and # key.

Here is exactly what my keypad looks like. (not my picture)

I think it's from Singapore. Bought it on ebay as a Titanium White version.

EDIT: Here is an even better pic of the keypad that I've found:

    Help with product code

I recently bought one Nokia N82 Black.

I really apreciate that you help me to find the region of my product code, it is 0563247. I'm from México but I bought it in Mercadolibre and I think this product code is from USA but not really sure, please help me.

My phone comes with version 20.0.062

    Edit:

Well, browsing in google I found a page where they show many products codes of the N82, the only problem is that it is in chinese, but I translate it in google and yes... the product code 0536247 is from the USA.

This version comes with English, French, Portuguese and Spanish language

Do you have anyway to know a phone is debranded?

My phone originally came from Hong Kong, but I think it has been debranded, because it supports Vietnamese+English language other than Chinese+English.

I think supported languages is only for user interface, and I could read documents and browse web in Vietnamese on unsupported firmwares because S60 support unicode, am i wrong?

De branding a phone phone is only required if you have purchased it from the carrier that provides your service. Usually these carriers brand the phone with their logos and pictures on the standby screen etc. The problem is they also remove menu options in the software to prevent you from using some features they believe you don't want or should not have access to.

If you have purchased it from another source, then the chances are it was never branded in the first place.

Thanks very much for your information. So I have misunderstood the term "debranding"

In Viet Nam, at this time, carriers doesn't distribute cellphones, so no branding at all.
We get Nokia phones from FPT, this is a Nokia authorized distributor.
phones distributed by FPT will have Vietnam product code and come with English + Vietnamese user interface.

In my case, I didn't buy my phone from FPT retailer (very high price), the product code was HK, but it did come with Vietnamese UI, so I doubted that the retailer has changed the product code and had fw reinstalled.

But now, it doesn't matter, I have my product code changed to VN with NSS, and happy with it. .

    Thanks again.

    Thumbs up

Changing the product code via NSS will in effect de brand a phone. Depending on what product code you choose will of course give you the choice of languages you wish as well.

Great to see you have achieved your goal anyway, that is the most important thing.

I just purchased and Orange black N82, And i have just got it unlocked so i can use my o2 chip. On the box it says its made in finland.

What do i need to do to "debrand" it (take all the Orange Shii of it)?
And when i do it, how will my phone be? Lose my n-gage stuff, etc?

    Hope someone can help.

    Cheers,
    B

Ok, just debranded my Orange branded V30 N82, to the black sim free product code 560974, and currently reinstalling V30, I noticed when NSU started to download this version, it started at 76mb, so obviously not downloading the complete V30 firmware. I really hope the Orange crap has gone this time, and that I can press, and hold the hash key to put into silent, also the multimedia key stopped working on V30 Orange, Im hoping that will be back.

    Will update shortly.

    Update.

Upgrade to V30 Black Sim Free product code 0560974 successful, and once I entered my sim code, the phone went back to my standby screen with my wallpaper, correct time, and all my settings still in tact. Obviously this is down to UDP.

My hash key now allows me to go into silent profile when pressed, and held.

My multimedia silver key still don't work though

Oh, and Orange crap still there, Orange Photos etc
